FYI : Etiquette suggests NOT using a reply card.
Your guests are supposed to hand write their reply to you in letter form.  I have yet to do a stationery package without a reply card.
Meaning reply cards are 100% of the time used.

If you choose to use a reply card. There are many ways to do this. Would you like to offer a food choice for your guests to add a number to? For instance if you are serving beef and fish, you can write in detail what kind of beef and fish you are offering your guests. They can then add their quantity needed of the specific food they would like to have. Following is only one example of reply card text:

The favour of a reply is requested
before December 18, 200 7

Here is another example when food is not
an issue.

FYI ~ The reply card return address contains the bride's parents names if they are paying for the wedding.

  " Wedding Invitation Etiquette "

Registry and gift giving information is spread by word of mouth or can be given by inserting into a shower invitation. This information should NEVER grace the wedding invitation. This puts to much emphasis on the gift and not the guest attending which is the most important part of your inviting and hoping the guest can actually attend. Inserting such information can be a turn off for your friends and family. Gifts are the guests choice. My opinion... have someone tell the guests about where you are registered. This will spread the word. Have your parent(s), sister(s), brother(s), bridesmaids spread the word. ALSO tell a talkative relative, she/he will spread the word quickly.

Brown Thomas, Roches, Debenhams, Meadows & Byrne, Marks & Spencer all run fantastic wedding registry services and are now offering a 10% discount on items that are not purchased. "
